Leona Rae Caldwell
Leona Rae Caldwell, 52, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. Leona was born on Sept. 9, 1963, in Kansas City, Mo., to Earl J. and Dorothy J. (Newton) Edmunds.
At the age of four, Leona, along with her family came to Nevada where she attended Nevada Schools. Leona worked at Christian Health Care, in Nevada, for a number of years then later worked at Catherine's Hometown Café until her retirement due to illness. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed being in bowling leagues. Leona loved life and hers revolved around her son Michael and her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and many friends.
Survivors include one son, Michael Edmunds, Nevada; six grandchildren, Gavin Amos, Brice Edmunds, Kyndel Amos, Champ Edmunds, Skyler Fallet, and Baili Edmunds; four sisters, Billie Frye, Channelview, Texas, Dee Dee Rachael, Channelview, Texas, Patricia Puckett, Nevada, and Crystal Hancock, Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Thelma and Dorothy; and one grandson, Haedn Edmunds.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home.
