John Harvey LaGuire
John Harvey LaGuire, 71, Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away Nov. 18, 2015, at the home. Memorial services will be 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 30, at Longview Baptist Church. Burial will be in Lee's Summit Historical Cemetery. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Longview Baptist Church or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Mr. LaGuire was born Nov. 12, 1944, in Nevada, Mo. He was married to his lifelong sweetheart, Linda. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1962 and was a United States Navy veteran (1962-66). John was a retired bookbinder with Trabon Printing Company. He was a member of Longview Baptist Church. He was an outdoor cooking enthusiast, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed sitting on his deck bird watching. He loved listening to the blues and watching old movies with the love of his life.
He was preceded in death by Helen (Wood) LaGuire and Harvey Clinton LaGuire. He is survived by wife, Linda (Bernhardt) LaGuire; daughters, Kathy (LaGuire) Kane (husband Jay), and Johnna (LaGuire) Davis (husband Terry); sister, Beth (LaGuire) Lightner (husband Eugene); grandkids, Nathan Davis and Laura Davis; nephews, David Lightner and Christopher Lightner; and great-nephews, great-nieces and many cousins.
