Cole Diggins, a senior at Bronaugh High School, was named one of 10 finalists for the 2015 KCPL Community MVP program, which recognizes youth in the KCPL's service area who have gone above and beyond to serve their community.

Diggins was entered in a contest that was determined by who garners the most online votes to be named the MVP.

Cole has volunteered more than 294 hours, both independently and as a member of more than 15 organizations, in his small town community, where without volunteers, programs would be lost. He has worked with young 4-H members, Afterschool robotics students, and at a local homeless shelter.

He has received six Character Education Awards, most recently due to his volunteer tutoring efforts; volunteers during summer, repairing school buildings; works with his local Cattlemen's Association during the state fair; and by picking up trash for the Missouri Adopt-A-Highway program.

He designed, funded, and implemented a PreK-3rd program entitled, "Where Does Your Food Come From?" travelling to a different classroom monthly, AGvocating for healthy eating and agriculture. Serving 231 people, he donated a can of vegetables to the local Center for Abused Women and Children, in the name of each student who participated, encouraging their future philanthropic behavior.

Cole was recognized, along with the other finalists, at the Thanksgiving Plaza Lighting Ceremony in Kansas City. The 10 MVP finalists each received a $1,000 college scholarship and two tickets to the Chiefs vs. Raiders game on Jan. 3.
