Richard Michael Schultz

Richard Michael Schultz, 48, Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on Jan. 15, 2016, at his home in Nevada. Richard was born on Feb. 28, 1967, in Orleans, France, to Stephen R. and Helga A. Schultz.

Richard came to Nevada from Joplin, Mo., in 1973. He attended school in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School with the Class of 1985. He served in the United States Army for 6 1/2 years as a medic. During his years in service he spent time in Germany, Greece, and South Korea. Following his time in the service Richard returned to Nevada where he has continued to reside. He worked at St. John's and Freeman Hospital for a number of years.

Survivors include his father, Stephen R. Schultz, Nevada; his mother, Helga Dipple, Germany; and his companion, Ava Celaya, Nevada.

No services are planned at the time. Interment will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kan., at a later date.
