Franklin P. Norman Community Center is hosting a "Take A Walk Around America!"

Each participant is provided a "paper doll" to place on the map located in the lobby. Dress up your "doll" or leave it plain, it's your choice, noted a press release from the center.

"Next, join our daily walking group, which meets each morning at 9. Or, walk on your own at a time convenient for you.

"Each day, you will log the number of laps or miles you walked. At the end of the week, the miles are totaled and your doll moves along the route on the map, to track your progress.

"As you near landmarks on the map, you will learn historical, less known or weird facts about that landmark. While, we encourage side trips, our goal is to hit a major landmark in every state.

"Our road trip begins in Houston, Texas and will continue on to San Antonio. You can join at any time."
