Sandra Jean Price

Sandra Jean Price, 67, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, at Freeman Hospital, in Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness. Sandra was born on March 28, 1948, in Nevada, to Claude E. and Opal (Jones) Barnes. She was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Price on Oct. 16, 1971, in Nevada, and he survives of the home.

Sandra was raised in Nevada and later California, graduating from high school in California. She came back to Nevada in her early 20s and shortly thereafter married Ron. Sandra was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Sandra was a devoted wife and mother, she loved baking, cooking, shopping and doing arts and crafts. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada.

In addition to her husband, Ron, survivors include her children, Michael Price, Nevada, and Lisa Martinie and her husband, Bill, Olathe, Kan.; three grandchildren, Zoe Hayes, Amy Hayes, and Indy Hayes; two stepgrandchildren, Charlotte Martinie and Carter Lower; two nieces, Moria Randall, Nevada, and Gale Thomas, Nevada; and aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Sharon Hornbeck.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 4, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada, with the Rev. Terry Mosher officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
