Nevada wrestlers hit mat at WCC tournament
The Nevada wrestling team competed Saturday at the West Central Conference championships in Clinton. While there, Nevada senior Dayton Miller picked up his 177th career win, passing Slade Stiles atop the NHS career wins list, as Miller improves to 177-20 overall for his career. Miller notched the milestone victory with a first-round pin of Alex Niner.
Miller at 126-pounds, along with Colton Shrewsbury at 138-pounds and Scott Swink at 195-pounds, picked up WCC individual championships.
With seven teams comprising the tournament, the Tigers finished fourth overall with 114 points, while Sedalia Smith-Cotton placed first with 174.5, followed by Warrensburg taking second and Clinton third.

* 120 pounds: Clay Landoll (17-27 record) placed third and scored six team points.
* 126 pounds: Dayton Miller (43-4 record) placed first and scored 24 team points.
* 132 pounds: Tanner Gotschall (22-19 record) placed third and scored seven team points.
* 138 pounds: Colton Shrewsbury (37-10 record) placed first and scored 17 team points.
* 145 pounds: Coletan Shepard (21-15 record) placed second and scored 14 team points.
* 160 pounds: Jacob Hammontree (5-18 record) placed sixth and scored five team points.
* 170 pounds: Bryson Leftwich (5-34 record) placed sixth and scored three team points.
* 195 pounds: Scott Swink (32-4 record) placed first and scored 15 team points.
* 220 pounds: Trey Pritchett (34-12 record) placed second and scored 20 team points.
* 285 pounds: Treyton Fleeman (8-19 record) placed fifth.
