Tisha Ann Creek
Tisha Ann Creek, 86, Nevada, Mo., went to be with her Lord on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, in Nevada. Tisha was born on April 26, 1929, in Nevada, to Walter Everett and Carro Virginia (Board) Braswell. She was united in marriage to Verner Creek Jr. in June of 1948, in Nevada, and he preceded her in death in April of 1981.
Tisha was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School in 1947. She and her husband owned and operated the Dari Crème Drive-in Restaurant in Nevada from 1952 until 1971. Tisha helped set-up the first Wal-Mart in Nevada and continued employment with them until 1992.
She was a member of the Pine Street Baptist Church where she was active in the Clown Ministry. Tisha was also an active volunteer with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief for a number of years, Missourians on Missions, and Campers on Missions. She loved to travel with family and friends.
Mrs. Creek is survived by a son, Verner V. Creek III, Republic, Mo.; daughters, Martha Swenson, Nevada, and Virginia Creek, Nevada; a granddaughter, Marissa Lea Casey and her husband, Kyle; grandson, Ben Swenson and his wife, Megan; three great-grandchildren, Allen, Clayton and McKayla; several nephews and cousins; one daughter-in-law, June Thomas, Wash.; and her life-long friend and sister in faith, Betty Seitz, of Nevada. In addition to her husband, Verner, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Donald Creek; and one brother, Billy Joe Braswell.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 3, at Pine Street Baptist Church, in Nevada, with Pastor Chad Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Newton Burial Park, in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
