Mrs. Judith Isabel Longworth Husebo, 69, a resident of 6573 Clark's Neck Road, Washington, died Friday, March 18, 2016 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice, Greenville, N.C.
A memorial service was held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, at Grace Lutheran Church, officiated by Pastor Ben Kifer.
Mrs. Husebo was born in Bates County Missouri on Aug. 11, 1946. She was the daughter of the late Glen Longworth and Juanita Mae Moore Longworth. She was a retired school teacher and also worked at Children's Hospital in Omaha, Neb., as a personal assistant. On May 19, 2000, she married James L. Husebo, who survives. Mrs. Husebo taught her daughters-in-law many things in life, much like a mentor. In her spare time, she loved to sew, quilt, work in her flower or vegetable gardens, canning and some would say she was a social butterfly. Mrs. Husebo adored her family, loved to spoil her grandchildren and was an amazing cook. She will truly be missed.
Surviving with her husband, James Husebo; are two sons, Jonathan Allen Fairbanks and wife, Arlene, and David Robert Fairbanks and wife, Cathy Salinas; a daughter, Cynthia Isabel Fairbanks and husband, Don Boyle; two brothers, Mike Longworth and wife, Lisa, and Glenn Longworth and wife, Judith; a sister, Margaret Pelkey and husband, Jimmy; nine grandchildren, Ashley Fairbanks, Johnathan Fairbanks, Nathan Fairbanks, Jessica Fairbanks, Elizabeth Fairbanks, Isabel Fairbanks, Evan Boyle, Corinne Boyle and Elyse Bolye; and one great-grandson, Curtis Woods.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Husebo was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Bradford; and a grandson, David Fairbanks.
