Lady Tigers honored at postseason hoops banquet

The Nevada Lady Tigers basketball postseason awards banquet was held Wednesday night at Nevada High School. Those winning awards for Nevada, were: Senior Megan Payne, winner of the Nevada Lady Tigers Leadership Award and team Most Valuable Player; Senior Madi Culbertson, Lady Tigers Offensive Player of the Year; and junior Megan Hold, Lady Tigers Defensive Player of the Year.Junior varsity awards: Nevada Lady Tigers Leadership Award, Danielle Laning; Defensive Player of the Year, Sammy Gundy; and Hustle Award, Hailey Jackson. For the NHS freshman team, The Nevada Lady Tigers Leadership Award went to Laiken Cussimanio. The Lady Tigers are coached by Jenny Allard (head varsity coach), junior varsity head coach Lori Thorp, and freshman head coach Anne Smoot. In addition, Thorp and Smoot are assistant varsity coaches.
