Special event slated to honor Larry and Jo Testman

According to a press release from Nevada R-5 Foundation, "Nevada R-5 Public Foundation is proud to announce a special event and capital project in honor of Larry and Jo Testman.

"Larry and Jo are both retired educators of the Nevada R-5 School district. Larry served not only as a teacher, but also as a track, football, and basketball coach from 1961-1991.

To honor his love of and dedication to the track program the Foundation is launching a capital campaign to raise funds to build a brick and stone entrance plus add additional bleachers and a much needed press box at the track.

A 5K run/walk event will be held on Saturday, April 30 to kick off the capital campaign. The 5K will begin and end at the Nevada R-5 Central Office parking lot. Donuts and coffee will be served at 8:30am, with special guest speakers beginning at 8:45am. Registration for the 5K will start at 9:00am with the event starting at 9:30am. It will be open to runners and walkers of all ages and all skill levels. Consent of parents is required for participants under 18. Prizes will be awarded for male and female 1st place in three age divisions; 19+ years of age, 12-18 years of age, and 11 and under. In the event of rain all pre-5K activities will take place in the NHS Auxiliary gym.
