Herbert Crosby "Jack" Wisely

Herbert Crosby "Jack" Wisely, 83, of Nevada, Mo., passed from this life on May 30, 2016.

Jack was born in Lamar, Mo., to Edwin Logan and Nadine Francis (Shepherd) Wisely and grew up in the Sheldon area. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and being stationed there, he married Naomi Morris who predeceased him in 2000. They are survived by two children, Julie Rouissi and Shannon Davis; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In 2009, Jack married Kathy Hoff, of Nevada, who survives along with stepdaughter, Devenna Jackson; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

Jack and Kathy have resided at Medicalodges of Nevada for the past two years. Jack is also survived by five sisters, Jean Simmons, Clinton, Mo., Dorothy McCaslin, Lamar, Mo., Marion Barnes, Nowata, Okla., Norma Mooneyhan, Nevada, Mo., and Lu Hooper, Adrian, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother, Frank Wisely, of Bates County passed in January 2015.

Jack worked as a tractor mechanic in Vernon, Barton, and Bates counties most of his life. He was a member of Sheldon Christian Church.

Contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Medicalodges of Nevada in care of Ferry Funeral Home.

Private graveside services will be held Thursday, June 2, at Dunnegan Grove Cemetery, Sheldon, Mo., with Shane McCaslin officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
