Loyd Edward Brooks Sr.
Loyd Edward Brooks Sr., born April 4, 1944, was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord and Savior on Monday, July 11, 2016.
Ed joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country. He loved being outdoors and working with his hands. He spent many years making broken cars new again. He was an active member of the Cowboy Church, of Butler, Mo.
Ed is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home, and his furry friend, Gizmo; children, Kevin and Christine Brooks Roberts, of Reno, Nev., Matthew Marriott, of Princeton, Mo., and Kenny Marriott, of Edmond, Okla.; sisters, Clarenita Brack, of Naples, Fla., and Linda and Mike Garrison, of Hume, Mo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Irene Guss Brooks; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held today, at 11 a.m., at the Heuser Funeral Home, in Rich Hill, Mo., with Pastor J.R. Beck officiating.
Casketbearers are Robert Benn III, Mason Benn, Weston Benn, Keven Roberts, Matthew Marriott, and Kenneth Marriott.
Burial with military rites will be in the Green Lawn Cemetery, in Rich Hill, by Rich Hill Post No. 67.
