Pole Position: Jackson pulls off rare three-peat
A decent turnout of nearly 70 cars signed in to the front gate Saturday night at the I-49 Speedway in Nevada. Race fans witnessed some great racing with a new face ending up in victory lane as Nevada native Morgan Campbell flew the checkers. In addition, Kris Jackson remained red-hot, winning for a third consecutive week.

En route to collecting his third consecutive victory, Lebanon's Kris Jackson showed his opponents the fast way around the track.
Jackson and Rusty Skaggs of Fort Scott (Kan.) comprised the front row. Skaggs attempt to track down Jackson came up short, as he had to settle for second place.
Fellow Fort Scotian Jerry Morgan netted third place, one spot up from his original starting position ---- while Tim Phillips, also of Fort Scot slid into the fourth position. Justin Amick of Osceola flew to a fifth place finish, his best run of the season.
---- Pure Stocks ----
Nevada native Morgan Campbell dusted the competition for his first-career I-49 Speedway victory. Previously racing in the Midwest Mod division, Campbell recently made the switch to Pure Stock, and it paid dividends.
Norman Mackley of Fort Scott trailed Campbell, placing second for the second consecutive week. Last week's Pure Stock winner, Nevada native Jaren Powrie, coasted into fourth place, while fellow Nevadan Jerry Wheeler rounded out the top five.

After starting with outside pole position, weekly competitor and current Street Stock division points leader, Bob Barnett of Republic,flew the checkers for his fourth victory of the season.
Mike Bitner of Frontenac, Kan., who zoomed up through the field to finish second. Charles Brown of Hume, battled it out with Thomas McManis of Mulberry, as Brown held on to the sport while McManis settled for fourth. George Skaggs of Fort Scott placed fifth.

Springfield's Grayson McKiney secured his third Mini Stock trophy of the season. For the duration of the season, it's been McKiney and St. Joe's John Willard side-by-side for entire 15 laps.
This race was no different, as Willard grabbed second place, followed by Sheldon's Mike Baxter, and Daniel Long of El Dorado Springs.

Earning back-to- back I-49 wins, was Devin Crockett of Lamar. After Crockett crossed the finish line, Nevada's Cayden Campbell followed for the runner-up spot. Osceola's Larry Drake sped into the third position, while Robbie Sullins of Butler placed fourth. Chanute's Michael Churning took fifth.
---- Late Models ----
Flying the checkers for the fifth time in 2016, was Verona's Dustin Mooneyham. Mooneyham made it look easy, starting with pole position, and then proceeding to lead wire-to-wire in the feature en route to victory lane. With the win, Mooneyham tightened his grip on the track points lead.
Weekly competitor Billy Humble of Rich Hill was runner-up,. The man on the move was Drexel's Josh Poe. Poe began in the sixth position, befire surging to a third place finish.
Dylan Timmerman of El Dorado Springs advanced one position from his starting spotto finish fourth, while Lynn Jones of Independence finished fifth.

Nevada's I-49 Speedway is idle this week, with action resuming Sept. 10, with a $500-to-win Midwest Mod special, sponsored by CarQuest Auto Parts of Nevada. Races are slated to begin at 7 p.m.
