Tuesday, September 13, 2016

The Nevada Tigers junior varsity football team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Joplin High School (JV) 14-12 Monday night in Nevada. The Tiger JV squad (1-3) emulated the varsity team's Friday night victory, with a second half comeback, as they trailed 12-0 at halftime. Nevada's first second half score was courtesy of a Grant Phebus run. Phebus also delivered on the 2-point conversion. The go-ahead touchdown came on a Robert Hoskins defensive touchdown, as he scooped up a fumble and took it to the house. Nevada's freshman team fell 32-0 Monday night at Bolivar.
