NHS swim team places sixth in Parkview

The Nevada Tigers swam to a sixth-place finish at the recent 11-team Parkview Invitational.

Senior Jake Asberry qualified for state for the second time this season, setting an exact qualifying time of 22.89 seconds in the 50- yard Freestyle. Asberry also extended his first place winning streak in the 50- yard Freestyle and the 100-yard Butterfly (time of 56.01 seconds) for five consecutive meets.

The 200-yard Medley Relay team of Thomas Prewitt, Asberry, Grant Miller, and Cody Hansen placed sixth, setting a time of 1:54.91

In the 200-yard IM, Armstrong's time of 2:40.62 was good for third place, while Miller trailed just behind with a fourth place time of 2:40.75.

In the 50 Free, Asberry clocked a first place time of 22.89, Prewitt placed seventh at 23.95, and Hansen placed ninth with his season best time of 25.49.

Asberry also placed first in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 56.01.

In the 100 Free, Prewitt concluded with a sixth place finish, as he swam to a season best time of 52.90. Hansen placed 10th with his top 2016 time of 58.25.

In the 500-yard Free, Braden Russell placed ninth with a time of 7:02.49

In the 200-yard Free Relay, the team of Jack Niestrath, Kalen Morris, Armstrong, and Michael Henderson placed ninth with a time of 2:04.33.

In the 100-yard Backstroke, Russell's time of 1:14.89 earned him second place.

In the 100-yard Breaststroke, Miller placed seventh with a season best time of 1:17.40. Meanwhile, Armstrong placed 10th with his season best time of 1:22.93.

In the 400-yard Free Relay, the team of Prewitt, Miller, Hansen, and Asberry placed sixth with its season best time of 3:48.56.
