Is this the best America has to offer?

Hi neighbors. Are you enjoying the campaigns? That is all the news is covering as the top stories on television. I am so appalled to hear the news rattling on and on about Trump groping women, and Clinton sending secrets to our enemies.

While the big screen covered that remarkably pertinent news (?) the ticker at the bottom of the screen told us our navy ships were being shot at by Iranian puppets in Yemen. Well, that news should have been given the large screen in my opinion.

As far as I'm concerned the top two political parties should both go the way of the Whigs and Tories.

I'm just sick about our politics being the butt of jokes around the world.

Our two nominees stand like high school students wanting to be class president. No, wait. Most high school students have more dignity, common sense and self-control.

Let me try to figure out what I know of these two just from the yellow press reports of televised news.

Hillary Clinton has a sketchy past involving land schemes and bad choices in dealing with other countries, sends confidential, governmental information across her private email accounts; allowing access to any hacker around the world. She is being investigated by the FBI.

On the flip side, she wears business suits, wants to serve the needs of children, and had an unfaithful husband who was at the time, president of the United States. Her political leanings have always seemed a bit more socialistic than Democratic.

Donald Trump is a wealthy, spoiled, ladies man who gropes women, is married to his third wife, and talks the talk of a CEO trying to close a deal. He is being audited by the IRS and has filed bankruptcy more than once. His political leanings lean more toward imperial than Republican.

Both throw mud at each other, both tend to wander off topic in debates, and both are often made fun of on social media platforms; mostly by people in other countries.

Really, people. Could none of us have walked through Congress or our own state capitals and not come up with two better candidates? Is this really all we have to pick from?

The Libertarian Party, as always, has no popular contender; no money for pushing the campaign, and has always just been there as another option. I know very little (as usual) about this candidate. He gets little if no news coverage, and is not included (as usual) in any national presidential debates with Clinton and Trump.

People I have heard on the street are firmly planted in their trenches; refusing to believe "all that hype, all those lies" about the candidate of their choice. Their minds are made up and they will not turn aside.

My personal opinion, being an independent voter, is if I have to choose between the three candidates representing the three political parties; I think I'll pass. I'll save my vote for someone who is running on the American People Party ticket.

When there are such slim pickings to vote for, why vote for any one of the three? I have always voted; but I do not trust Hillary Clinton; I do not respect Donald Trump, and to vote Libertarian is also a wasted vote because they never win. Some may say we have three choices for president of the United States. I say we have no choices. I feel if anyone running for president this year wins -- America loses.

We need to get career politicians made up of lawyers and millionaires out of Washington and elect people who still understand the American Dream.

This is all I will say on this election; but I too have an opinion and the right to share it.

I will see you at the polls and hope we get a competent vice-president in office. Good luck to us all and may God bless America no matter which stupid choice we end up making.
