Coleman’s complete-game lifts NEVC to victory

Northeast Vernon County Knights junior Jackson Coleman spun a complete-game gem on Wednesday, leading NEVC to a 12-2 five-inning victory over visiting Bronaugh.

The Golden Valley Vernon County win improves NEVC to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in GVVC-play, while Bronaugh falls to 0-8 overall (0-4 GVVC).

Jackson was dominant, allowing just one run while striking out eight over five innings of work.

“This was the best game on all sides we have played this year,” NEVC head coach Rick Wagner said. “Excellent pitching by Jackson.”

At the dish, NEVC freshman Jaxon Prough finished 3-for-4 with an RBI, while junior Quinton Hays reached base four times via three walks and an error.
