Kannady-Foreman inks four incoming recruits
The future is bright for Cottey Comets volleyball, as head coach Marla Kannady-Foreman has signed four high school seniors to her incoming recruiting class.
Hanna Kellenberger
Kellenberger is a talented libero and defensive specialist out of Muriel Battle High School in Columbia, Mo.
Kellenberger’s team accolades include: Most Valuable Player, Top Defensive Player, and Hardest Worker.
At Muriel Battle, Kellenberger is a member of the Student Council, Treasurer of the National Honor Society; Prom Committee Leader; and Editor-and-Chief of the school newspaper.
Kellenberger has previously been a member of club volleyball teams: H2, Columbia Heat, Columbia Thunder, and is currently playing for VB PRO.
In addition, Kellenberger has volunteered with Art in the Park, Food Bank, and Missouri River Relief.
Sierra Baker
Baker, a senior at Hillcrest High School in Springfield has made her name as a big-time outside hitter.
Baker collected numerous accolades during her senior campaign, including: First-team All-Conference, First-team All-district, and All-Region Honorable Mention.
At Hillcrest High, Baker is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, while also volunteering for Cox College and NPC Childcare. Baker’s current club team is the Hot Tamales.
Allyson King
King, a Carl Junction High School senior, plays the outside and right-side hitter positions.
King is a member of of Letterman’s Club, Track, and FBLA. In addition, King has been invited to play in the Sertoma Grin Action All-Star volleyball tournament in June.
“Allyson has a great mental focus during play, and is a strong team player,” said Kannady-Foreman.
Mackenzie Green
Green a senior at De Soto (Kan.) High School, is set to join Kannady-Foreman’s team this fall as a setter and defensive specialist.
“Mackenzie has a calm and disciplined way of playing, which you need in a setter,” said Kannady-Foreman.
Green, who has lettered in volleyball, basketball, softball and bowling, is a member of the Honor Roll, Ambassadors and Mentor program, and Madrigals Music Club.
“Mackenzie has an eye for where to set the ball,” said her club volleyball coach.
