NHS student athletes shine at district meet

Nevada High School track-and-field athletes were in top form at Saturday’s Class 4 District 6 meet in Carl Junction –– as Nevada qualified for a grand total of five events for the upcoming sectional meet.

NHS athletes qualifying for the sectional meet, were: Freshman Calli Beshore, who swept to first place finishes in the girls 1600 and 3200-meter run. Additionally, senior Megan Hold qualified with a third place finish in the triple jump. The Lady Tigers’ 4-x-400 meter relay team also qualified, finishing fourth. The team is comprised of Hold, Kaeth Zachary, Zoe Farmer and Sydney Ernsbarger.

On the boys’ side, Nevada’s Kayden Ast qualified for sectionals after leaping to third place in the long jump.
