Tigers four back at state golf tourney
The Nevada Tigers’ golf team is one of eight schools remaining at the Class 3 State Golf Tournament. Not only that, but Nevada is within striking distance after Monday’s 18-hole opening round at Sedalia Country Club.
The Tigers are sitting pretty with a team-score of 307, trailing St. Francis Borgia High School (303) and Priory High School (305). In fourth place just behind Nevada, is Pembroke Hill (309). For Nevada, Individually through 18 holes, seniors John Quitno and Patrick Ferry are in a five-way tie for fifth after carding a 4-over-par 74. NHS senior Jacob Hammontree fired a 7-over-77, and sophomore Bronson Smith, an 82. The final round is set for today.
