Timmerman visits Nevada Speedway victory lane

It was an exciting night at the Nevada Speedway on Saturday for a number of local racers, including Dylan Timmerman of El Dorado Springs who emerged in victory lane in the Late Model division.

Timmerman dominated the Late Model competition. After starting on the pole, he then led every lap en route to his first career victory. John Willard of Mound City placed runner-up while Billy Humble Sr. claimed third. Nevada-native Jerry Brown finish fourth, and Rob Hail of El Dorado Springs rounded out the top five finishers.

–– Pure Stocks ––

Finding victory lane for the first time this season was Nevada’s own Matthew Hendren, who parked his car in the winner’s circle.

Opening week winner, Jason Agee of Fort Scott, settled for a second place finish, while Nevada High School junior Jaren Powrie slid into the third spot. Fellow Nevadan Morgan Campbell finished fourth, and Thomas Dunham of Carl Junction placed fifth.

–– Street Stocks ––

Mike Bitner of Frontenac, Kan., collected the Street Stock victory. In a replay of last week, Nevada’s Shawn Hendren settled for a strong runner-up finish. Last week’s Street Stock winner, Nevada’s Karl Lehmann grabbed third, with Nick Gibson of Garden City trailing in fourth. Devin Irvin of Cleveland, Mo., rounded off the top five.

–– A-Mods ––

It was a big night for El Dorado Springs’ racers, as Lucas Dobbs secured a first place finish in the A-Mod division. Dobbs, who led wire-to-wire, was trailed by Pleasanton’s Jessy Willard, who slotted into second place. Scotty Bough of Nevada finished in third, while El Do’s Craig Wood took home the fourth place finish. Chase Sigg of Iola, Kan., made his way through the pack to finish fifth.

–– B-Mods ––

After his opening-week absence, Brian Bolin made his presence known Saturday night as the Fort Scott native sped into victory lane, locking up his first feature win of the season.

Current points leader, Rusty Skaggs of Fort Scott, maneuvered through the field to finish second. Jerry Morgan, also of Fort Scott, placed third. Iola’s Mason Siggs took fourth, while Levi Phillips of Neosho cruised into fifth.

–– Midwest Mods ––

Rob Muilenburg of Sparta made it two-for-two collecting his second consecutive win on the young season. Hot on Muilenburg’s trail was Lamar’s Devin Crockett. After starting seventh, Crockett zoomed into the runner-up finish.

Larry Drake, Osceola settled for third; Kyle Lafferty, Sparta, fourth; and Keith Bradley, Fort Scott, fifth.

–– Mini Stocks ––

A condensed field of Mini Stock racers hit the “new” Nevada Speedway track, as Sheldon’s Mike Baxter flew the checkers. Lamar’s Cody Gilbertson took second, while John Starnes, of Nevada, placed third.
