The Nevada Lady Tigers volleyball team, led by seventh-year head coach Ashley Thoreson, is slated to compete in the upcoming four-team Carthage High School volleyball scrimmage, Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m.

The Lady Tigers will first match-up with Joplin High School. For its second match of the evening, Nevada will square off with host Carthage.

In a rematch of last season’s Class 3 District 12 semifinal match, the Lady Tigers will face the Aurora Lady Houns’ to conclude the evening.

Thoreson said the scrimmage will be extremely beneficial to her young squad, as the Lady Tigers graduated their top seven players from its 2016 district champion team.

“We’re definitely working on finding our voices and getting comfortable on the court so we can get that chemistry going,” Thoreson said prior to Tuesday’s practice at Wynn Gym.
