The Welborn Cemetery Association held their second annual Memorial Day service on Saturday, May 26.

A small crowd of locals, some with relatives buried in the cemetery, joined in saying the Pledge of Allegiance after the US flag was raised.

Following opening remarks by association president Mikki Johnson, Joe Welborn, whose family founded the cemetery, spoke on its history.

Association vice-president Brenda Cadle read the names of the more than 50 veterans buried at Welborn Cemetery.
