Nevada High School head varsity football coach Wes Beachler will oversee a summer weight-lifting program for Nevada High School and Nevada Middle School current and prospective student-athletes.

The weight-lifting program will run for the duration of the summer, and is slated to begin Monday, June 25. Weekly meeting dates are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from to 10-11 a.m. at the high school.

Beachler’s program will not meet during Missouri State High School Activities Association “dead weeks.”

MSHSAA dead-weeks are: the all-school dead-week, July 9-13, and the Fall dead-week July 30- Aug. 5.

“It’s going to be an opportunity for them to stay in weight-lifting shape for the remainder of the summer,” said Beachler of the free program.

Beachler added that for the week of July 2-6, meeting dates will only take place on Monday and Tuesday of the holiday week.
