Evelyn Sue Schreiner
Evelyn Sue Schreiner, 75, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at her home in Nevada. Evelyn was born Aug. 19, 1943, in Berryville, Ark., to Glenn Loren and Mildred Frances (Lander) Roden. On March 5, 1964, she was united in marriage to John T. Schreiner in Memphis, Tenn., and he survives of the home.
Evelyn was raised in the Shell Knob, Mo., area and graduated from Cassville High School Class of 1961. She attended Burge School of Nursing in Springfield becoming an RN. Evelyn worked in various hospitals in the Kansas City area from 1964 to 1999 including North Kansas City Memorial Hospital, St. Margaret’s Hospital in Kansas City, and Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. She has resided in Nevada for the past 19 years. Evelyn attended the First Presbyterian Church in Nevada. She was a member of the Garden Club, and the Bowling League. Evelyn loved to read, go to flea markets, watch the antics of her cat, and spend time with friends and family.
In addition to her husband John she is survived by two daughters, Donna Lenharth and her husband, Scott, Nevada, and Karen Cox and her husband, Greg, Kearney, Mo.; one granddaughter, Emily McDowell; one sister, Frances Bolton and her husband, Ted, Cassville, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, at the First Presbyterian Church in Nevada with the Rev. Greg Ferree officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church Backpacks of Love are suggested in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
