Barbara Ann Hamilton

Barbara Ann Hamilton, 63, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Freeman West in Joplin following a lengthy illness. Barbara was born May 11, 1955, in Sheldon, Mo., to Homer Leroy and Francis Marie (Lynn) Bogart. She married Rolla Hamilton on Aug. 26, 1993, in Lamar, Mo., and he preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 2005.

Barbara grew up in the Sheldon area and attended Sheldon schools. She was a homemaker and mother. After her children were grown she and Rolla owned and operated Grandma and PaPa’s Diner in Nevada for 12 years. Barbara enjoyed being with family, her grandchildren, fishing and camping.

Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Johnson and her fiancé, Jared Sloniker, Nevada, and Ashley Hamilton, Nevada; one stepson, John Hamilton and his wife, Robbin, Nevada; six grandchildren, Tiffany Newman, Samantha Dale, Charlene Williams, Wyatt Hamilton, Jessica LeAn, and Kenneth Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Gary Bogart and his wife, Janice, Amarillo, Texas. In addition to her husband, Rolla, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bobby Hagerman, and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Robert Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
