Jeffery Linn Post
Jeffery Linn Post, 56, Nevada, Mo., passed away and joined his Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Jeff was born July 11, 1962, in Nevada to John Linden and Ronda (Hinds) Post. He was united in marriage to Gail Round on Aug. 8, 1982, and she survives of the home.
Jeff grew up in Nevada, attended the Nevada R-5 Schools, and graduated in 1980. Following High School he attended and graduated from Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph, Mo., with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. While attending College he met his wife of 36 ½ years, Gail. Upon finishing College he returned to Nevada to join his father in operating Morrison-Post Insurance Agency, Inc. (MPI), later having his mother and wife join in the family business. Jeff was still active in the daily operations of the business until his death.
He served with many organizations including Nevada Lions Club, was a board member and past General Manager of the Nevada Griffons Baseball, Nevada Little League Baseball, Nevada Little League Football, and the Nevada Dirt Dawgs Girls Softball. He was a devoted member of the First Christian Church where he had served as a Trustee. He was currently serving on the Moore-Few Care Center Board, and was the current President of the Mink League. Jeff was past advisory board member of Nevada VO-Tech Building Trade Program, and also a past member of the Nevada Parks and Recreation board. Jeff was very active and involved in community activities.
Jeff was handy with woodworking, building projects and helping others with their projects. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends.
In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by their son, Kevin and his wife Sarah of Butler, Mo.; four grandchildren, Emilie, Kalen, Colton, and Makenzie; mother, Ronda Post of Nevada, Mo.; his mother-in-law, Catherine Round of St. Joseph, Mo.; brother, J.L. Post of St. Louis, Mo.; foreign exchange brother, Tor Skeie and his wife, Hronn, and their children, Marius, Marlin, and Marita of Norway; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his father, Linden; and his father-in-law, Gene Round.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at First Christian Church in Nevada with Pastor Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, and during regular office hours on Monday and Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
