Nancy Maxine Fox
Nancy Maxine Fox, 74, of Nevada passed away Monday, March 11, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a period of illness.
Nancy was born Nov. 20, 1944, in Fort Scott, Kan., the daughter of Mearl Leon Johnson Sr. and Mary Evelyn (Fritter) Johnson. She graduated from Northeast High School in Kansas City, Mo. She worked for O’Sullivan’s in Lamar and retired from the R-5 Nevada School System. She was married to Monte Fox who preceded her in death. Nancy was very involved with her family, she especially enjoyed having all the family over during the holidays. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. Nancy was a member of the Eagles and was an avid bowler.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Edward Leon Johnson; and one son-in-law, Jody Williams.
And is survived by daughter, Tammy Williams of Warrensburg, Mo.; son, Tim Wilson (Tanya) Nevada; son, Terry Vaughn (Janet) Nevada; daughter, Terri Sibley, Nevada; grandchildren, Martin Simpson (Sheena) El Dorado Springs; Bodi Vaughn (Dana) Kansas City, Mo.; Miranda Vaughn (Nathan) Nevada; Trevor Vaughn, Nevada; Shelby Wilson, Springfield, Brian Wilson, Nevada; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Ella, Evie and Jed (Simpson) and Mila (Vaughn); sister, Jolene Price (James) Nevada; brother, Mearl Johnson Jr. (Vena) Nevada; and many extended family and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 15, in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday.
Memorials may be made to Vernon County Cancer or the Nevada High School Show Choir in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
