NRMC further restricts visitors
Nevada Regional Medical Center (NRMC) continues to implement safety measures to keep its employees and patients safe during the COVID-19 pandemic according to guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As best practices change to address this virus, NRMC will continue to adjust its policies and procedures accordingly.
As of Tuesday, visitors have been further restricted by asking NRMC Auxiliary volunteers not to report to the hospital and closing the gift shop. The cafeteria is now closed to the public. However, patients will continue to receive meals. Except those that are employed by NRMC, student nurses will not be permitted. Vendors will be allowed only if they directly assist or provide patient care. No other vendors will be allowed in the clinics, hospital, or any other departments at this time.
In an effort to decrease exposure to illness, all patients and visitors will enter the hospital through the Front Lobby, between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., or the Emergency Department. All other hospital entrances are closed and only accessible as emergency exits.
Outside visitation to patient care areas has been restricted until further notice, as follows:
· The Emergency Department shall allow no visitors (including employees), unless the patient needs end of life or comfort care.
· Outpatient Surgery will limit visitors to the patient’s driver or significant other, if necessary, to accompany and assist the patient.
· Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Physician Clinics, and other outpatient services will limit visitors to only those patients who need assistance for mobility or understanding of health information.
· One visitor is recommended for Med-Surg and OB patients/deliveries per patient per day. During deliveries, one support person and one visitor will be allowed at the nurse’s discretion.
Families will not be allowed to gather in the waiting rooms, based on CDC guidelines for social distancing.
· No visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. (unless the patient needs end of life comfort.)
Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services has set up a COVID-19 hotline. Individuals with questions regarding COVID-19 should call (877) 435-8411. Or if treatment is needed, present to the nearest Emergency Department.
