Nevada R-5 contracted services employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Nevada R-5 School District announced Friday afternoon an additional confirmed positive COVID-19 case associated with the district.

"Today, we received notification of a district contracted services employee who tested positive for COVID-19," stated Superintendent Dr. Tyson Beshore. "The Vernon County Health Department is notifying all individuals who meet the definition of close contact and will instruct those individuals of their required next steps."

The case is the latest in a string of new confirmed cases over the past week. Last Sunday, the district reported two middle school students had contracted the virus and this was followed by a report of a high school staff member testing positive, as well as a Benton Elementary staff member.
