Due to COVID-19 outbreak, Neal Center closed to public again

Saturday, July 24, 2021

Effective immediately, the Neal Center (Vernon County Senior Center) located at 301 N. Main St., in Nevada, is closing its doors to the public again. There will be no activities nor meals served inside the building. This is in response to the recent widespread COVID-19 outbreak.

The Vernon County Health Department is reporting a positivity rate greater than 20 percent. The Neal Center will continue to deliver meals to shut-in seniors throughout Vernon County and will continue to offer curbside pickup service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on the north side of the building.

These meals are available to any senior citizen over the age of 60 and for any donation. The center encourages seniors to "take advantage of this program to continue to receive a hot, nutritious, and delicious meal, prepared on site, in the kitchen."
