Evan Dante Simpson
Evan Dante Simpson, 33, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at his home in Leavenworth, Kan. Evan was born on May 31, 1989, in Joplin, Mo., to Michael Simpson and Leah Wilson. He grew up in Fort Scott, Kan.
Evan had a love of nature and loved to explore it. He loved going on nature hikes and meeting every animal possible. He was an amazing cook and dreamed of one day becoming a chef. He loved playing video games. He loved drawing and painting and creating any kind of art with his hands. He was loved by everyone he met. He exuded as much love as possible at all times. He was always a shoulder to cry on, a person to offer you peace and let you vent anything to him. A true friend, a true guide. Evan always had a piece of wisdom to leave with everyone he met. A pure soul with the biggest heart. He left a positive impact on everyone’s life that crossed his path. He always a smile on his face and opened his arms and heart to everyone, even on his darkest days.
Evan is survived by his grandmother, Connie Capps, Moundville, Mo.; his mother, Leah Wilson, Mound City, Kan.; his stepmom, Kelley Adams, Nevada, Mo.; his siblings, Sacha Schafersman and (Michael), Corpus Christi, Texas, Ian Simpson (Ashley), Nevada, Mo., Bethany Weber (Joe), Moundville, Mo., Ariel Simpson (Ryan), Lecompton, Kan., Noelle Fast (Shane), El Dorado Springs, Mo., Nicole Adams, Nevada, Mo., and Jenni Willcoxen (Travis), Fort Scott, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Simpson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 20, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
