Lady Tigers nab first win at Neosho
Nevada High School served up its first victory of the volleyball season Monday at Neosho, with the varsity, junior varsity, and freshmen squads combining to pull off the road sweep.
The Lady Tigers on varsity topped Neosho in four sets — 25-20, 25-10, 30-32, 25-11 — to improve to 1-4 on the season.
Grace Barnes recorded 16 digs, followed by Emma Leisure with 15. Leisure also led the team behind the service line with five aces.
Delaney Hope protected the net with eight blocks and 12 kills, while teammate Trinity Gayman added 14 kills and seven blocks.
Jade Feller set everything up with 35 assists.
The NHS JV team dropped its first set 25-23 but rebounded to win the next two, 25-21, 15-10.
The freshmen team also won, 25-10, 25-3.
Nevada heads to El Dorado Springs on Tuesday.
