The Nevada High School junior varsity football team suffered its first loss of the season Monday afternoon at Lamar.

The crimson and gray Tigers responded well after getting shut out in the first half, but ultimately fell 32-12.

Running back Blake Cox ran in a 55-yard touchdown in the third quarter, before teammate and fellow junior Tayvin Moore punched in a two-yard TD in the fourth.

"We are proud of our kids for how we finished the game," stated NHS head coach Jerrod Alexander, whose squad is now 3-1. "We felt that our effort was very inconsistent at times and we need to have great effort from the first kickoff. We are excited to get back to work at practice this week and get better."
