NEVC fares best at Hume triangular

The Northeast Vernon County High School volleyball team earned a pair of victories Monday evening at a triangular hosted by Hume.

The Lady Knights took care of Bronaugh first with a 25-20, 25-17, 25-15 sweep before needing four sets to best the hosting Lady Hornets 25-13, 25-21, 18-25, 25-18.

NEVC is now 5-3 on the season and will travel to winless Ballard on Thursday.

Hume ground out a straight-sets victory over Bronaugh in the other match of the night — 26-24, 26-24, 27-25 — to move to 2-7 on the season. The Lady Hornets will host Miami on Friday.

The Lady Cats are now 1-8 with a triangular at Sheldon with Chilhowee next on the schedule for Friday.
