Cottey volleyball splits on Saturday

The Cottey College volleyball team rebounded from a 3-0 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan with a 3-2 victory over Manhattan Christian Saturday afternoon inside the Hinkhouse Center.

The Comets suffered a sweep in their opening match (13-25, 13-25, 20-25) despite eight kills and three blocks from Briannah Quick and 10 digs from Staley Stallaby.

Then, Cottey (10-12) took Manhattan Christian to five sets, eventually coming out on top 22-25, 25-23, 25-22, 20-25, 15-11.

Emily Killion scored 10 kills in that one, while Quick, Stallaby, and Alesia Cooley each contributed nine. Killion also added five aces and 25 digs (Stallaby had 23 digs).
