Sheldon volleyball, led by subs, sweeps Hume
The Sheldon High School volleyball team picked up win no. 3 on the season with a 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 home sweep over Hume on Thursday.
Despite missing two of the team's three seniors, the Lady Panthers got sparks from underclassmen Britain Korsi (seven kills, three digs, two aces) and Emma Kleeman (13 digs, five assists, one ace) — while regular starters Deborah Lamb (14 digs, three kills, two blocks, two aces) and Ella Kleeman (14 assists, 11 digs, seven aces) contributed big numbers, as well.
"Britain was swinging and playing with confidence, and Emma really showed off her speed and agility to get after the ball," stated SHS head coach Emily Godsey, who also got nine digs and five aces out of Miriam Lamb. "Overall, the team clicked and really did a great job of playing hard and not letting up. I'm so proud of them and their efforts."
