Nevada Tigers advance to Class 4 District 7 semifinals

Nevada took control early and never looked back as the second seeded Tigers cruised to a 64-6 win over the seventh seed Kansas City East Bears in a Class 4 District 7 football quarterfinal Friday night at Logan Field.

Junior quarterback Cade Beshore threw for two touchdown passes and and ran for another in leading the Tigers to a district semifinal next week in Nevada. Beshore threw a pair of 24 yard touchdown passes in the first half with the first coming on the initial score of the game to Drew Beachler and the second coming early in the second period to Kartman Highley that gave the Tigers a 38-0 lead. Beshore also ran for a score from 29 yards out late in the first half.

Avious Steadman added a pair of scores on runs of 41 and 48 yards giving him 20 rushing touchdowns on the season.

Nevada had a 46-6 lead by halftime and the varsity players saw just limited playing time with junior varsity and freshman players seeing the majority of playing time as eight different players reached the endzone.

The Tigers improved to 8-2 on the year while East finished their season at 0-9. Nevada head coach Wes Beachler, on last night's post game show, reflected on how the program has changed over the last couple of seasons.

Nevada moves on the Class 4 District 7 semifinals next Friday night back at Logan Field. The Tigers will host the third seeded Bolivar Liberators who advanced with a 31-14 win over the Warrensburg Tigers in Bolivar.
