Vernon County 4-H program hosts Recognition Night

The 4-H Recognition Night was held Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Diner on the Vernon County Fairgrounds.

“The 4-H program in Vernon County is one of the best in the state thanks to its members, families, adult volunteers, and community supporters,” Youth Programs Associate Thabena Bower said. “A few honorees were unable to attend the event due to scheduling conflicts, they will be personally presented their awards at their club's 4-H meeting.”

The 2020-2021 4-H Council and Advisors awarded the following awards:

Outstanding 8-year-old: Tie David Wydick and Chase Luther

Rookie of the Year: Tie David Wydick and Chase Luther

Outstanding 9-year-old: Elias Baker

Outstanding 10-year-old: Tie Ella Goedeke and Dani Wydick

Outstanding 11 and 12-year-old: Anna Goedeke

Outstanding 13-year-old: Rylee Wydick

Outstanding 14-year-old: Preslee Bower

Outstanding 15-year-old: Mason Forkner

Outstanding 16 -year-old: Koby Chadd

Outgoing 4-H Council Officers: Hallie Bond and Micala Bower were presented gifts - both tumblers and Hallie the official gavel - for their contributions to Vernon County 4-H.

The new 2021-2022 4-H Council was recognized.

New 4-H Council Officers Rylee Wydick and Maleah Hogan were presented 4-H notebooks for joining the 4-H Council. Andrea Wydick, new 4-H Council Advisor, was also given a 4-H notebook.
