NEVC Softball battles back and forth with Wheaton for two different results
The NEVC Lady Knights went toe to toe with the Wheaton Lady Bulldogs, facing them this past Wednesday and Thursday in back to back games. In game one, the Lady Knights lost 15-0, but was able to win Thursday 17-1. Head Coach Brice Leonard told Nevada Daily Mail, “We played very well tonight and it shows in the score. We started Breanna on the mound and changed up our defensive alignment and the defense really stepped up. This is the first game we have had zero errors and I’m very proud of the defensive side of the ball.”
Leonard continued by saying, “On the offensive side, it’s like our bats finally woke up. We had a few girls that we know are good hitters, but they just hadn’t shown it very much before tonight. Breanna is the perfect example. She was batting .154 on the season, then she went 3-4 tonight with a single, a double, and a triple and 4 RBIs! I feel like this is going to be a turning point for us as we close out the last week of our season and get ready for districts.”
The Lady Knights will face the Lockwood Lady Tigers at home this evening.
