On Tuesday evening, the Nevada City Council held their regular session meeting to discuss several issues.

Vernon County Economic Developer Ben Vickers announced during the Communications and Petitions portion of the meeting that he would be resigning from his position. Vickers noted that he accepted a new position as the Manager of Business Development for the City of Springfield, Mo., Chamber of Commerce. "Going forward, I will no longer be the full-time economic developer for Vernon County, Mo.," Vickers stated. "I did want to express a few things that hopefully will comfort you. It's not just going to be a vacancy in the position. We are going to work for a solution where I'm not just going to be leaving you high and dry, so to speak."
Vickers added that he would continue as part-time in the economic development director position and would be dedicating one day of his week towards Vernon County, Mo., until August. "In the meantime, we're going to work towards filling the position," he stated.
During old business, the council had several items up for discussion.
