James Allen Wilson

James Allen Wilson, 78, Nevada, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at his home in Nevada. James was born June 7, 1945, in Monmouth, Ill., to Jessie James and Hazel (Hogman) Wilson. On April 19, 1981, he married Carolyn Sue Shotts in Peoria, Ill., and she survives of the home.

James grew up in Illinois and came to Nevada in 1981 and went to work at the sawmill in Moundville for several years. He then went to work for Extrusions in Ft. Scott, Kan., for over 30 years until his retirement in 2010. James loved helping people whenever he was needed and making sure his family was taken care of.

In addition to his wife, Carolyn, he is survived by six children, Jamie Silvers (Kenny), Joplin, Mo., Jody Jordan (Steve), Nevada, Ecko Wilson (Gerald), Nevada, Michael Porter (Valerie Gumm), Nevada, Sheila Keller (Mark), Peoria, Ill., and Cindy Wilson of Peoria, Ill.; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Elliott, Peoria, Ill.; brother, Eddie Wilson, Peoria, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Wilson; and a sister, Leanna Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 24, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada.
