Vernon County Sheriff's Office wins 'Battle of the Badges'

The Second Annual Nevada Battle of the Badges Blood Drive was recently held at the Vernon County Fairgrounds. The event was sponsored by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, Nevada Fire Department, and the Nevada Police Department. All donors at the American Red Cross event were able to cast a vote on which department they wanted to count their donation towards. The winning department would then win a traveling trophy. This year's winner was the Vernon County Sheriff's Office. Pictured with the traveling trophy is Tycher Blakely, representing the department. The vote totals were as follows: Vernon County Sheriff's Office (25 votes); Nevada Police Department (12 votes); and Nevada Fire Department (4 votes).
