Daniel receives MOFACS Teacher of the Year award at conference
In a noteworthy achievement, Emily Daniel, the Culinary Arts Instructor at Nevada Regional Technical Center, has been officially recognized as the New Missouri Family And Consumer Sciences (MOFACS) Teacher of the Year. This announcement follows an earlier report in the Saturday, April 8, edition of the Nevada Daily Mail.
The accolade was given to Daniel at the Missouri Association for Career Technical Education (MOACTE/MOFACS) Conference, which took place last month in Springfield, Mo.
Daniel delved into a variety of breakout sessions and even had the distinction of leading three sessions herself. The sessions she conducted included the New Teacher Workshop, Prostart Session, and the Lab Management Session. Attendees also had the privilege of experiencing a motivational speech by Todd Whitaker, an event Daniel described as exceptional, from which she gleaned a wealth of insights.
One of Daniel’s notable roles at the event was her participation as a member of the Missouri Educators Family Consumer Sciences (MOEFACS) Registration Committee. Her responsibilities extended to delivering a speech, resulting in her election as President Elect for MOFACS.
The conference, hosted by MOFACS, additionally facilitated networking opportunities. These events, curated by MOFACS, provided an avenue for educators to connect and exchange valuable ideas.
Undoubtedly, the highlight of the entire conference was when Daniel was presented with the New Teacher of the Year Award. This significant recognition was bestowed upon her on Tuesday, July 25. In recounting the experience, Daniel shared, “It was an extraordinary feeling, something that words can hardly capture.”
Reflecting on her personal highlights from the conference, Daniel noted, “Learning novel and diverse insights from fellow educators and engaging in extensive networking were definitely the high points for me.”
When questioned about the advice she would impart to her fellow educators, Daniel’s response was concise yet impactful. She emphasized continuing to provide students with learning opportunities and experiences.
