An enthusiastic crowd of more than 100 people took part in the Jan. 6 Girl Scout Cookie Crunch-off at Franklin P. Norman City/County Community Center.

Girl Scout Leaders exult to win the 14th Annual Missouri Heartland Cookie Crunch-off at the community center. Narrowly besting the R-5 Nevada Bus Drivers, they took the title to begin the Scouts' annual cookie drive.

Winning the annual Cookie Crunch-off are, from left, Girl Scout leaders Sara Kettner, Nani Wilde, Joelle Mason, Tammy Rundell and Tricia Matthews. They took first place for the second consecutive year.

R-5 Nevada Bus Drivers, in the blue, white and gray shirts, take second place in the Jan. 6 Girl Scout Cookie Crunch-off. Taking part for the first time were Boy Scouts including John Hunter, at the table, and the next-in-line Nathan Vincent. Behind them is Troop 42 Scoutmaster Walt Coffer.
