Lady Tigers open defense of league title with win
The Nevada Lady Tiger tennis team, in search of its 11th straight Southwest Conference title, got off to a good start on Friday. Nevada (1-1, 1-0) outclassed Webb City, 8-1, in its 2003 conference debut. "It feels good," said first-year coach Dennis Pendrak, of his maiden victory, "but I have to give all the credit to the girls. And we had a lot of support today from the parents, some old alumni and our guardian angel, Lex Blue, who won championships here." Blue, semi-retired, was a former Nevada High School tennis coach.
