NMS Tigers maul Joplin Memorial
Streaking Nevada Middle School eighth-grade girls basketball teams swept their ninth straight opponent.
The Tigers mauled Joplin Memorial in both ends of a "A" and "B" twinbill on Tuesday.
A 33-7 win marked the end of the season for the "B" squad, which has gone undefeated with 9-0 records in each of the last two seasons.
Emma Dreyer led the "B" Tigers with 10 points, while Katelyn Charlton added six.
The "A" team wrapped up another undefeated regular season, as well.
Led by Jordan Webb's 21 points, the Tigers ran away from Memorial with a 62-17 victory. The "A" team, also 9-0, will seek to duplicate last season's 14-0 mark, as seventh graders, with two tournaments remaining.
Season scoring leader Lindsay Rice poured in 15 and point guard Kristen Badgley chipped in with 11.
Nevada meets the Carthage/Neosho winner at the Tri-County Tournament in Webb City on Monday.
