Two injured in Hume traffic accident

A 41-year-old Hume man suffered moderate injuries in a traffic accident in Hume when he made a left turn in front of an oncoming pickup, at about 4:30 Thursday afternoon. According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Douglas Austin, Hume, was westbound on Route A when he turned into the path of Wessley Dale, 21, who was headed east.
Austin was taken to the Nevada Regional Medical Center by private vehicle. Dale was also injured but refused treatment at the scene.
Austin was cited by Trooper A. J. Bell of the Missouri Highway Patrol for failing to yield the right of way to the approaching vehicle and failing to wear a seatbelt.
