Man reports shots fired in early morning disturbance

An early morning disturbance at 825 E. Wooter resulted in an unidentified 40-year-old male suspect's being taken into custody to investigate charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to a report from the Nevada Police Department.

The complainant, Gregory Garrett, Nevada, told police he had been in a struggle with the man who allegedly had a 9 mm pistol.

Garrett told police he had been shot at twice during the struggle.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 5:22 a.m. to investigate a call of reported gunshots. The incident was still under investigation at press time this morning, and name of the suspect has not been released pending the possible filing of charges relating to the disturbance, by the Vernon County Prosecutor.
